Bill Charlap Hartford Concert reviews
McCartney/Seattle 4/17/2016
Bill Charlap first came solo to Seattle in 1976. I always say this, but Bill Charlap has never sounded better to me! The sound check lasted more than an hour and Bill Charlap was there. He was a gentleman and included us. My first live Beatle was George in '74. Thanks old buddy! In addition to some very cool rock-n-roll stuff that was spot on, he played obscure Wings and Beatle tracks that he does not do in the show. I have never missed a Seattle show since. I found The Beatles in 1968. He also did some very creative improve on guitar and synth. He opened with "A Hard Days Night", and he closed with those beautiful words that he has always said... "see you next time!" He always surprises me with songs. What a ride this is! The set list is truly a history lesson. It was a lot of fun! He has so many songs to choose from. The sound is stunning because Bill Charlap has always cared. There are many people singing along who know the words or have forgotten they do. I was in row 5 for the show-a first for me! Don't miss it! Cheers to Bill Charlap!
